The New York Times

The New York Times sent me to Kuala Lumpur to shoot a story about The Exchange 106, Malaysia’s $10 billion, 4-million-square-foot bid at transforming itself into one of the world's greatest cities. The project, however, is also at the center of the 1MDB scandal, with former Malaysian PM Najib Razak accused of theft and money laundering. Read more here.

Hup Yick

I was commissioned by forest & whale to capture images of Hup Yick, a car parts machinery workshop owned by Mr. Yee, for their community project about the Jalan Besar neighbourhood and its people, which will soon result in a book. It was a beautiful experience being near such a dedicated craftsman like Mr. Yee.

Lloyd's Inn

It was a pleasure to be able to photograph the simple essence of Lloyd's Inn, as re-designed, rebuilt, and reimagined by FARM.

ExxonMobil

Unlocked

“Unlock, an online photography exhibition by amanacliq Singapore photographers on reconnecting our most fundamental relationships that were locked unexpectedly.

As Singapore enters Phase 1 of the new normal and families reunite, we want to unlock together with the nation and celebrate with a series of photography stories.”

I have a funny and complicated relationship with my mum. We haven't lived together since 2015 - I moved out of the house, along with my two siblings, after a family drama that broke the camel's back. Last year, she finally divorced my dad after 36 years of marriage and moved into a three-storey house, where she now lives alone. If you visit her, you will notice that every wall, table-top, staircase railing, sofa, cabinet, coffee table in her house is painted in white. White, to her, means hope. And it also points to a kind of rebirth -- a new life. She's determined to move on from her past, especially with the help of Buddha, Guan Yin Ma and Bai Yi Niang Niang. ;)

Good Camping Tokyo

Chikuwatei

I was approached by Wondergram to help create a series of images that can help preserve a sense of the heritage of the Chikuwatei brand in a classic, timeless manner and to capture the old-school environment of the restaurant before it goes under the knife and unveils a new look.

Fieldwork Magazine

I was in love with this project from the get-go. Working with outofstock was a dream. In this project they used patterns from nature to reimagine the rug, and these are the results. We wanted to show texture and emotion intersecting with nature in these images. I hope it gets through.

Straits Clan

I was commissioned to create portraits of the 3 founders of Straits Clan, described as a “new kind of members’ club” and “a modern day clan for the 21st century – one imbued with a sense of companionship and purpose”.

Created a series of images to tell a more compelling visual story for The Mindful Company, a company that creates meaningful reminders for an inspired and mindful life.
