Rebecca Toh 6.jpg

Rebecca Toh (b. 1986) is a photographer working around the world. Influenced by music, literature and the ability of a film to tell moving, layered stories, she works to inject emotion, story-telling and a sense of the cinematic into the images she creates for a diverse range of commercial, advertising and editorial clients across multiple industries and cities.

In her personal work, she enjoys exploring beneath the surface of ordinary life in order to reveal its deeper psychological meanings. Sometimes, her work also travels somewhere between dream and reality.

Based in Singapore, but always on the road.

"It's a strange world. Everyone's always wondering, ‘What's gonna happen when I'm old?’ or ‘What is death all about?’, but we're just worrying for nothing. Because the world is bigger than we can imagine. This world is a 'series of accidents', and what fills this world isn't happiness, but interestingness. Happiness is subjective, but when you are willing to jump into the world, you will start to feel its interestingness. And if you live in this world, you'd better not do things that are not interesting."
